Beyond appearing on Shake It Up!, Chris has made an appearance on Days of Our Lives, as well. In the episode, which aired in January 2011, he played a character named “Cory,” though I’m not sure if he was credited for the role. He talks about it in an interview he did in January with Zang Radio (listen on YouTube here). More information about the episode can be found here.
He’s also, apparently, hitting the studio, once again. He did an interview with Tommy2.net back in February of this year, and in it he revealed the following about his solo music career.
Chris Trousdale: [...] I went out to try to do a solo career and it kind of had a rocky start and took a long break from the business after that. I’ve done a few duets and collaborations with some other groups and artists over the years, and my mom had some cancer so I actually, that’s why I really took a break. I went to Michigan and took around four years off and just helped her out, and she’s doing great now, and I’m hear in LA trying to do my acting thing and my singing thing, so it’s going good.
Tommy2: Yeah, yeah! I hear you’ve been recording some new material. When can we look forward to hearing that?
Chris Trousdale: Yeah, well I’m in the studio again Tuesday. I literally just started working on the album in January, so it’s been amazing. I’m just excited to be back in the studio after doing a little, well I did the track “Not Too Young…” I think it was in September or so, and it was just a tease. I was like, oh, I miss the studio and on Shake It Up, and then I went to Shake It Up and got to perform on the show. It just brought me back, and I said, “I have to get back to the studio,” so needless to say, I’m recording a pop/dance/R&B album. It’s gonna be crazy, crazy! I’m excited.
In the interview, he also mentions a strong interest in officially releasing a lot of his older unreleased solo tracks, his success with Dream Street, the controversy over his the similarity of his character on Shake It Up! to Justin Bieber, Jesse [McCartney]‘s career… Check out the rest of the interview at the source link below (text and audio available).
Oh, and he recently tweeted the following.

Also, it somehow slipped the radar, but apparently Matt had a role on 30 Rock in 2009. The episode was called “Kidney Now!,” he played the role of “White Kid,” and you can find more information about it here.
For those of you who are following Open Till Midnight, they recently released a video from a jam session they did with a new song called “Circe’s Isle.” It’s racking up quite a lot of views on YouTube.
